ZoË Flannery
USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist
Master of Education
Master of Education
A true lifelong equestrian, Zoë grew up gallivanting around bareback with her Appendix Frankie on Tower Hill Farm in Rhode Island, a busy dressage and eventing training barn run by her mother. A dedicated student of dressage early on, she has had a successful competitive career to FEI Grand Prix with the Oldenburg stallion Landsong and others, earning numerous National Champion, All-Breeds, and Year End titles.
While maintaining a small teaching and training business, Zoë focused her "other" professional life to teaching Middle School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts with a Masters in Education. She taught at Seacoast Charter School, an arts-integrated public charter school, from 2009 until the birth of her son Everett in 2019. Zoë turned her passion as an educator to expanding her dressage instruction and training business full time with the purchase of Wide Pine Farm.
A dedicated instructor, Zoë excels at working with individual learning styles to create a successful environment for both humans and horses. She has a positive and energetic way of teaching, and often "rides through" her students. Her ultimate goal is to teach riders to be kind, hardworking, and proactive in their own training. She has a unique way of explaining biomechanics which makes her popular with riders in a variety of disciplines. Her students describe her teaching style as clear and empowering. She is sure to assign a specific plan for training to facilitate progress between lessons.
